Leap of Faith

from $26.00

Ink and Watercolor on Paper

The original painting is 12×9.5 inches (unframed) and is matted and set in an 14×11 inch frame. The piece is signed and dated by the artist.

This painting was inspired by my own journey as an artist. So much of pouring yourself out to serve your work feels like a leap into the unknown. Where will I land? Will the work succeed? Has this all been for nothing? The only thing worse than the terrifying plunge into the aether would be to stand paralyzed and never leave the ground. Ultimately, this surrender must be an act of faith in the One who holds it all in His hands.

A figure surges forward mid-stride, captured in fluid India ink washes that emphasize gesture, weight and motion. Beneath and around the runner, vibrant watercolor blooms (violets, blues and a striking river of crimson) unfurl like visible energy, amplifying the sense of momentum. The interplay between the controlled monochrome figure and the expressive color field creates a compelling sense of tension between precision and release, grounding the piece in both movement and emotion.

Styles: Realism, Expressionism, Impressionism, Illustration
